Zhim Leather Creations uses genuine suede, cowhide, and buckskin leather — no synthetics, no shortcuts. Every hide is selected by hand for grain quality, thickness, and consistency before being cut and stitched for our jackets, vests, and shirts.
Are Zhim leather jackets handmade?
Yes. Every Zhim Leather jacket, vest, and shirt is handcrafted from start to finish — hand-cut, hand-stitched, and hand-finished. Many pieces feature hand-sewn beadwork and fringe detailing inspired by traditional western and frontier craftsmanship.
How long does a handcrafted leather jacket last?
A well-made suede or cowhide jacket from Zhim Leather Creations is built to last for years of regular wear with basic care. Genuine leather develops a natural patina over time rather than deteriorating, so your jacket improves in character the more you wear it.
What's the difference between suede and cowhide?
Suede is leather finished from the underside of the hide, giving it a soft, napped texture, used in our fringe jackets and shirts. Cowhide is full-thickness leather with the natural hair-on or smooth finish retained, giving it a more rugged, durable look, used in our cowhide jackets and coats.

How do I care for my Zhim leather jacket?
Clean your jacket with a dry or slightly damp cloth to remove surface dust. Every few months, apply a small amount of leather or suede conditioner to keep it supple. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, rain, or extreme heat. Store on a padded hanger away from damp conditions.
Can suede or leather jackets get wet?
Leather is naturally water-resistant to light rain, but suede is more delicate and should be kept dry where possible. If your jacket gets wet, blot excess moisture with a dry cloth immediately and let it air-dry away from direct heat. Use a suede brush to restore the nap once dry.
